According to Drinks Business Review, Japan-based Yakult plans to roll out its popular probiotic beverage of the same name. Previously only available in Hispanic and Japanese supermarkets, Yakult will soon be available in mainstream grocery stores in California as part of the first stage of its roll out. Drinks Business Review says Yakult USA now believes U.S. consumers are ready for the single-shot serving of its probiotic strain L. casei Shirota, especially in light of the healthy convenience trend. The company plans to support wider distribution through primetime TV and radio advertising.
